Car Alarms: Reset Prestige RF transmitter, car alarm system, rf transmitter

Question
QUESTION: I have a Prestige APS786T Prestige car alarm system installed in my 1997 Toyota Corolla. Very recently, the RF transmitter no longer arms/disarms/starts the alarm. I tried the "press the lock/unlock button twice in one second"  idea but the problem does not go away. Please suggest something

ANSWER: Try resetting the system using the overide.
Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

This should be overide.
Repeat these steps to go
back to user mode.

QUESTION: I tried your solution but it did not work.
Question?- should I hear the alarm chirp while the ignition is on. Should the doors/trunk be closed also?

Answer
Yes you should have heard a chirp. Doors and trunk make no
difference when toggling in and out of valet.

Well, then that leaves us with inspection & repair,
Try going to a local car alarm shop and get
them to assist with it. Possibly the people who installed
it? They should be able to solve it.

Good luck.
