Car Alarms: car alarm, passlock 2, gm dealer

I lost my remote to shut off the car alarm in my 2003 cavalier
i have a standard key but the alarm goes off if i try to open the door. How do i shut the alarm off.

Answer
The short answer is you can't. This car's
passlock 2 system will not allow it.

This is a resistor based immobilizer system and
the fuel injection rail would be disabled
if you attempted to use an unprogramed key.

2 options. Have the local GM dealer service
department sell you 2 new coded keys, or
see the options at www.PASSLOCK2.com

Sorry, not always an easy way to answer this
question. But it is a common issue created
by GM.
