Car Alarms: factory alarm going off by itself, lexus is300, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: i have a 2001 is300&sometimes my factory alarm goes off by itself whenever it is parked without being tampered with, i don't know what the problem is

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

QUESTION: well it's a factory alarm on a 01 lexus is300 the headlights are flashing while the horn is sounding off,is there a way to maybe turn down the sensor on this type of factory alarm?it only does that when its parked most of the time

Answer
Sorry you feel the answer was less then
usefull, but it is an honest one.
Your car's factory alarm is not something
that a novice or a prof. technician can
make any feature setting changes to.

Factory alarms are made to do certain things.
There are no "quick fix" solutions sometimes.
In this case, it's a locked system,
and you can't change a thing about it.

It is what it is. Best advice is still the same.
Take it to Lexus for a solution since nothing
can be done on your own to solve this issue.

Again, just because the answer is'nt exactly
what you wanted, does not make it any less
true. Seems less then fair to get a 1 rating
for lack of knowledge, when there is no
way to provide the knowledge requested, but I'll live.

Thanks alot.
Have a good day anyway.
