Car Alarms: Looking To Buy A Car Alarm, hyundai tiburon, 2003 hyundai tiburon

Question
Hello.. I am the proud owner of a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I love my car and my sound system that is in it. I have been a victim of auto burgulary in the past, and I was looking to get a car alarm for my car. It is a 5 speed manual, and I was wondering if I could get the remote start as well.. I was wondering if there is something out there that I could install myself, or if its best left to the professionals, and what brand of system is a good choice. Thanks.

Answer
Well all are possible Matt. On the "who should do the work"
issue, that's up to you, but this car project has issues.
For one, to do remote start you need to
get a system designed with failsafe protocals
to operate remote start on a standard
transmission vehicle.

2. Your vehicle has a transponder in the ignition that
requires a bypass also for remote start.
Others include seperate hood and trunk triggers
etc...

I'd say unless you know a bit more then a novice
on how to install, this car may not be the first
or second project you'd want to tackle.

I do have a few ideas as to "if it were my ride,
what would I choose" here.

Go to www.pagingalarms.com and www.visionguard8000.com
You will need to get a few items to make all work
safely and correctly, but all dooable.

Have a look, and get back to me
at INSTALLSUPPORT@AOL.COM if
you want to go over some items.
