Car Alarms: 95 Nissan Pathfinder Alarm Chirp, nissan pathfinder, key fobs

Question
The factory alarm in my 95 Nissan Pathfinder no longer chirps routinely when the alarm is armed/disarmed.

However, sometimes after a heavy rain storm, the chirping sound returns for a short period of time.

I have re-programmed the key fobs, but this did not resolve the issue.

Does it sound like there is a short in the siren? If so, do you know where the siren located in the 95 model?

Thank you.

Answer
The factory alarm does not "chirp".

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.

ADENDUM:

Let's say it is an aftermarket piece.
Then try to overide and reset:
Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid. In your case, it
may already be on solid. This is then in
service/overide, and no siren chirps would
be heard until you reset.

Follow the same steps above to go out of
service to reset to armed mode
Let me know.--A.
