Car Alarms: Audiovox Pursuit prooe4bs problems, toyota 4runner, fuse box

Question
I just bought an 03 Toyota 4runner with this system. The lock and remote start functions work but the unlock doesn't. I can't find any info on how to operate the system. I found the valet switch which includes a toggle and a push button next to one another. I need help understanding how to get the unlock function to work and how to shut off the alarm when it goes off.
I managed to get the locks to function with the key on and the doors open, but once I close the drivers side door the unlock doesn't work.
there is an option button on the key chain that I don't know what it's function is.
Thank you for your help.

Answer
From the sounds of it, the installer
used only one of the 2 required door unlock
wires needed in this vehicle's installation.

To do this correctly, you will need to send
a negative pulse to both the green/yellow &
blue/yellow located at the plug below the
fuse box. The green/yellow wire is the
key cylinder unlock wire, the blue/yellow wire
is the unlock detection wire.

What you want to do here to diferenciate
between each wire, is to use both wires and
diode isolate them.

See dioding door triggers at www.relayhelp.com
to get the idea if needed.

Not a huge deal, but is obviously holding
your door locks from unlocking.

Suggested course of action?

Print this out & take it to your
local stereo/car alarm store to have them
modify the work already 90% completed for
a small service fee. It REALLY should
not be too hard, or expensive at all.

I hope this sloves the issue for you.

Have a good one.
