Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): PTO clutch, cub cadet lt1042, factory seal

Question
Wire attached to clutch burnt thru. Can you replace the wire or do you have to replace the whole clutch?

The parts list doesnt show the wire, just the clutch.

I have never tried replacing just the wire.  I might try if it were my own mower but for customers we only install new clutches as they are more reliable.

Have you priced a clutch?  You can find aftermarket clutches that work just fine and cost less.

Can you tell if the clutch and be taken apart?  Usually they are welded or sealed with no way to access them but to destroy the factory seal.
