Car Alarms: 99 Ford Explorer...Nightmare.., alarmtek, dash area

Question
I recently bought a 99 Explorer and had to have the command start removed because it was tripping out the ignition and I couldn't start my vehicle.  Now my factory alarm keeps going off.  It's making me a real hit with my neighbours.  Is there a way to disengage the alarm?  Right now I can't even lock my doors because the alarm may trip...?

Answer
I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.
