Car Alarms: toyota camry security system lockout, alarmtek, toyota camry

We have had this prob. several times. The car will not start. Makes no sound or even has an indication of power. Cannot jump start, the battery is not dead. The starter is fine. We know that it has something to do with the security/door locking remote. It seems that its out of sequence because when you push the buttons on the remote the car will show power. Do you know if its something as simple as having the doors closed, the position of the starter switch when you push the remote???Help..

let's try to put it into valet/service mode.
I suspect this is an aftermarket system.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

This solves the problem for now.

Then if you want to remove it, take it to a local
after market alarm dealer and have it done there.

They may even be able to reset/reprog. the features on
the alarm you have, to allow you to use the system
more comfortably, but of course, your call.
