Car Alarms: Acura rsx horn, acura rsx, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I have an acura rsx 2002 and recently everytime i drive it and its very hot, the horn goes off by itself while im driving!! I took it to the mechanic and they cant find anything wrong with it, do u know what it could be or what can be done to make it stop??

ANSWER: No, I really could'nt say. If the techs
at Acura could not find anything wrong,
it's unlikely I could.

The security module might be going bad,
but if they inspected that already and
no fault is shown, Then you will
need to document the times this happens,
any attributing environmental quirks
that could have set it off, and report
them to the techs that worked on it for
you.

It's going to have to happen in front of
the technican so that he can iron out the cause,
and repair.

Wish I had better news, but if it's
the factory alarm, you'll need them
to help.

Sorry.

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer, i dont know if this might help, but it only happens when its really hot outside. If i drive at night, it doesnt happen. I think it has something to do with the heat. I tried to take out the fuse, but if i do that the stop lights wont work. I hope this helps.

Answer
That fits. There is a temp sensor for the
system in the front dash area. But I won't go
as far as saying that's it for sure.

The option here is to either deal with it.
or, opt for possibly disabling the
factor alarm all together.

If you want, you can take it to the local
stereo/car alarm installers and tell them
to please disable the OEM alarm system
as follows:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
white/red |-| at the security control unit,
located to the left of the steering column.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest installing an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
