Car Alarms: Disarm Car alarm in 2001 VW cabrio, 2001 vw cabrio, vw cabrio

HI, the cabrio has a broken door lock and I need to take it in to be fixed. However, the car alarm engages when the car is started. Tried opening the trunk to disarm the alarm and then start the car. The car alarm still goes off. Could you please tell me how to disarm the alarm so as to be less conspicuous on my travels to the dealer? Thanks for you time.

Wow, that really stinks.  See the issue is that your 01 Cabrio's alarm arms and disarms with the door locks.  If your locks broke in the locked/armed state then I do not know of a way to disarm the alarm short of taking it to a dealer to have the lock repaired.
