Car Alarms: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd in SECURITY mode, jeep grand cherokee, side kick panel

Question
Hi, our 1995 Jeep Grande Cherokee is having starting problems. We thought it was battery, so changed it but it keeps going into SECURITY mode. The headlights flash, SECURITY flashing on dash but vehicle won't start. Tech that installed our alarm system and auto starter removed the fuses as the alarm kept going off and told us to try that.  Still not working. Appreciate any guidance. Thanks

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
PURPLE/YELLOW (- negative wire) in the
DRIVERS SIDE KICK PANEL.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely, and you
should be able to start it and go now.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
