Car Alarms: anti-theft 2000 Jeep Cherokee, jeep cherokee, orange wire

Question
My jeep is "stuck" in the anti-theft mode.  I had turned a hard right and parked and may have pulled the key before I righted the tires.  Now I can not move the wheel (maybe 1/2 in to the right and 2" to the left), and the key will not turn on at all.  I have had it stick before and just had to move the wheel slightly back and forth and turn the key.  I have been working on this for days now.  Is there a way to disable the anti-theft so that I can at least move the car out of the grocery store parking lot.  thanks for any assistance!

Answer
It's a mechanical issue Alicia.
You need to play with the steering
wheel to "un stuck" it.
Sorry but my expertise here is
aftermarket alarm interfacing.

But as far as the factory alarm,

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt. green/orange, but will need a bit of
surgery to get this done unfortunately.

The disarm requires a 463 ohm resistor to ground
on the lt.green/orange wire at the drivers door
lock switch, you MUST use a relay.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

Other then that, Jeep is going to have
to get in there to help I think.

I hope this helps.
