Car Alarms: improving security, honda prelude, turbo project

Question
hello, ive started using this site and im pretty amazed at the help you have been giving. I am in the middle of a turbo project on my honda prelude and the theft factor will be greatly increased. also, for college next year i plan to go to charlotte, nc. I need to improve my security, both for protecting items and for protecting the whole car!
I had an audiovox aps-996 installed last year, and at a local autocross I damaged the paging remote. I am using the "backup" one that merely locks, unlocks, and panics. I didnt really like the remote, the paint wore off of it just from me keeping it in my pocket. Do you know if the 997 system's remote will work? Do you think this is a good alarm system? The installer was supposed to be one of the best around.. but im pretty sure that valet switch is just under the dash in plain sight.. and there are many wires hanging down(they were that way stock).. what should I do? call him out on it? I cant indentify certain wires, so for all i know he could have tucked the right ones... so i feel idiotic challenging him.
Also do you think a fuel pump or ignition kill switch is a good idea as a backup? What about a backup battery? Where can this be placed, and what size is good? In its current state, someone could open the hood, trip the alarm, and have it off in seconds by cutting the wires to the battery.. I have a large blue top optima under the hood for sound system purposes, what can I do for the alarm? there isnt much of a place to move that battery.

any help would be great, tons of questions but ive seen you help these people more than anyone else, and i greatly respect your opinion and suggestions.
i look forward to hearing from you,
email me the response
mike.

Answer
Thanks for the cudos!
I work hard at doing what I can to provide
direction in this field. Nice to know it's
appreciated. Onward.......

On the Audiovox, I do believe that the 997 will
work, bit it's best to check with an Audiovox
salesman. I stopped selling them about 3 months
ago due to the same issues you are having now.
Look either in the antenna head, or left leg
area for the valet/overide button.

I also figure since you have stepped up the investment
level here, a camera and gps system may be a way to go
as well. It's really all up to you, but in my mind,
if you're gonna do it, do it right. Right?

Oh, got a trick for ya. Get a rechargeable
9 volt battery and cap. Then tap the red
wire to the red wire on the alarm, near
the harness head, and the black to the ground
black on the same harness. Then tape to the
alarm brain box. That affords you with
up to 24 hours of power for the alarm if car
battery is cut or removed.

Don't however mess with the fuel injectors.
Hard enough to get them correct in the first place.
Just do the starter disable. Maybe a microwave motion
sensor, or an electronic tilt sensor for the rims
and jack up protection. That will be fine for the
triggers.

The camera would start sending images to the keychain
and is admissable in court! www.VISIONGUARD8000.com.
Abd of course, ONLINE GPS TRACKING speaks for itself.

Either way, you will need something a bit more cutting
edge, for a car that is also.

That's my take on it.
Check back to let me know what you
end up with.

Thanks again for the kind words.
