Car Alarms: 1999 chevy p/u alarm problem, chevy silverado, fuel sending unit

Question
have a 1999 chevy silverado Z-71 p/u w/ factory alarm...factory remote.. the alarm (horn) goes off intermittently  sometimes it stops by itself sometimes not..and we use the remote to stop it.. no rhyme or reason as to when... 1am...4am...noon...etc. had the battery replaced thinking maybe low voltage, no change.. only other elec work done recently was having the fuel sending unit replaced. alarm problem started 4-5 weeks after this was done, so probably not related... any suggestions??? thanks

Answer
Odd. But ok... You can either go to GM
for a repair/replacement-reprogramming session or,
if yours is malfunctioning, you can disable it for
good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
light green |-|in the drivers kick panel.
Also found in the purple plug of the BCM.
(body control module)

The BCM is located behind the drivers side of the dash.
The plugs on the BCM face towards the rear of the vehicle.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
