Question
QUESTION: my remote wasn't working, so i opened my door, alarm went off, so while the alarm was going off, i put the key in the ignition and turned, the car didn't start, so i banged remote on the ground alarm still going off, when i pressed the button chirp chirp, alarm is off, it worked, so i jumped in my car and turned the key and no start, car won;at start. I read the other questions, and tried that put the ignition on and press the bottom under the dash within 5 seconds thing, the light indicator turns solid as im holding the bottom, still not turning on!! it's a prestige car alarm, on a 2000 Mitsubishi gallant, please help me, what's next, no crank no nothing!
ANSWER: Make sure you do it like this...

KEY ON AND FORWARD TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING,
PRESS IN AND HOLD THE VALET OVERIDE BUTTON
FOR UP TO 7 SECONDS. WHEN THE ALARM CHIRPS,
THEN THE SYSTEM IS IN OVER RIDE.

REPEAT TO GO BACK TO SERVICABLE MODE.

Other then that, that's how it's done.
If it's an immoblizer issue, then you will
need to contact Mits. for the procedure to reset.

QUESTION: THANK YOU,
I tried exactly what you wrote, when i pushed in the button and held for 7 seconds, no chirp and still won't start. i even held it for like a minute and no chirp, or no start, the alarm was good and so was the car, until i tried starting it while the alarm was going off. is there anything else i can try? thank you. George

the remote works now, but car don't turn now!

Answer
No I have nothing else save to remove the
relay on the starter wire, and the coded keyypad.

Start fresh here George, I can't inspect it from here,
but to continue to futz with it, could be detromental.

My suggestion is to locate the wiring done on the
keypad and the alarm, then remove them and repair
the wiring so this does not strand you somewhere.

I would then replace it with a system that is up
to date, and you know how to operate.
It makes for a better and more secure experience.
