Car Alarms: my alarm goes off every time i connect the jumping cables to try to start my 1999 honda accord., valet mode, auto parts stores

Question
I have 1999 honda accord. Today i tryed starting my car and it wouldn't give me any power at all, as if the battery was dead. so i tryed jump starting it. And soon as i connected the jumping cables the alarm sirens started going off. So I still tryed starting the car while the alarm was going off, but still nothing happened. So could guys please let me know a way or strategy to disable this alarm, so i can try to start this car or let me know what the problem is. is it my car alarm causing my battery to go dead or is that i just might have another electrical problem causing this.

Answer
If this is an aftermarket alarm then there should be some type of over ride switch, known as a valet switch.  To disarm your alarm you would need to have the key in the ignition in the on/run position and press/flip the switch.  This should make the LED indicator illuminate solid and bypass the security features of the alarm.

It is very possible that the battery is just dead and has nothing to do with the alarm at all.  When the battery voltage drops below a certain level it can cause the alarm to operate in various undesired ways.  Try putting your system into valet mode to see if the alarm stops when jump starting the car.  I would also recommend having the battery load tested, most auto parts stores will load test your battery for free.
