Car Alarms: Alarm on my 95 Chrysler Lebaron, chrysler lebaron, bearer of bad news

Question
I'm having problems with my Lebaron and not sure if it is my alarm or not. Problem started when I would get in my car and try to start and it would immediatly shut off and my alarm would flash(lights, etc). I would use my key remote and hit unlock and it was fine after that. Then one day my alarm would go off throughout the night if it was locked. Then one day I tried to start it and it kept dying. I would hit unlock on key remote but car would repeat the problem. Now it will not start, just crank over. A mechanic told me to pull the alarm box in glove box to disarm it, I did. It did nothing! I hooked it back up and it started clicking and lights flashed, then I put key in passenger door and turned twice to turn it off. My key remote no longer works. Now I have no altenator light on my dash when key is on and my check gages light stays on. Could this be my alarm causing the problem? If so, what do I do to completely disarm my alarm system? Thanks

Answer
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Chrysler will need
to step in here and reset the system for you if you want to
retain it's functions.
If however, you tried to insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it, yours is malfunctioning,
and they would tell you it needs to be replaced. ($$$).
You can however, disable it for good by doing
the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt. green/orange |- |in the drivers door harness.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
