Car Alarms: Headlight issue after Autostart install, daytime running light, fog lamps

Question
Follow Up:

Well I removed the AutoStart and all associated wiring, and I still only have the daytime running lights functional.  I also verified every fuse at the driver kick-panel and in the engine compartment is good.  Any other clues as to why I only have DRL?

Thanks again forthe previous answer

-----Question-----
Sorry for the confusion earlier.  This is the issue:

Hello sir:

I just installed an autostart and it is now functioning, thank you for your help earlier.  It continues to work bu now my headlights will not engage.  First off the daytime running light function, but when I turn the headlight knob on the lever on the steering column, they never intensify past daytime running light, as they used to do when initialized. Also when I move the lever forward into the brights position, the brights do not engage, but when I do the "flash" on the brights, by pulling the lever towards me, they work fine. So with the daytime running lights working, and the brights working when forced, that tells me the headlight bulbs themselves seem ok. Another oddity is that the fog lamps do not work, but I believe the Tundra's fog lamps are wired on the same circuit as the headlights. So, did I blow a fuse? a relay? or something else that is now not letting me turn on my headlights and fog lamps? All fuses in the engine compartment are good (4 four the head lamps and 1 for the fog light), as I would think the bulbs would not light at all. I do have power to the lever as the dash and running lights on the vehicle do turn on. The light on the dash-display for the fog lamp works, so I assume it is receiving power. I assume there is an inline fuse or fusible link from the steering column headlight lever to somewhere that is blown? Not sure where to look next.

This sounds like you tapped into the parking brake wire, not the brake pedal wire. DEI says to grab the wire in the kick panel, not at the switch this leads me to believe the brake switch may not be a standard switch. It is possible that your starter is feeding back into the wiring of the brake switch making the truck believe the parking brake is engaged (and causing your issues with the headlights).

This is purely a guess though. Fix your brake input wire connection and see if the problem is not fixed.

Keep me informed.

Answer
No, unfortunately I have no other course of action
other then to go to GM and have the diagnostic
reader pinpoint the error so you can
make the correction needed.

Hopefully no damage was caused in the computer from
the headlight output on the remote strater.

Sorry, wish I could have assisted more,
but this one should be diagnosed at GM.

Let me know what you discover.
