Question
i was wondering can i add a remote start to my 2007 scion tc? i have the Omega AL-100c as my alarm and i was wondering if i can add the remote start, can i use my factory remote?

Answer
You may be able to if these conditions are met:

1. Your car's factory remote has to work when the vehicle is running otherwise you will not be able to unlock the vehicle with the remote when it is remote started.

2. The alarm offers an auxiliary output that is not currently in use.  Such as a trunk release.

3. The alarm offers a way of disabling the shock sensor via a trigger wire input.  This is not as important as you can disable the shock sensor with a relay (or two) with the status output from the remote start.

The other thing to consider is that your vehicle has a factory transponder, this must be bypassed during remote start.  This can be achieved by using either a key in a box type of bypass.  Which means you will either lose a key or need to pick up a third key from the dealer or a locksmith prior to installation.  Also, if the vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission you must get a system that is made specifically for a manual transmission.
