Car Alarms: Help!, butt connector, starter wire

Question
i just gave my dad my car, and it has a car alarm installed by Pennsylvania..., there is a digital code that has to be entered by the dashboard on a 91 Honda civic. Now the only thing is that I told my dad he did not have to use the alarm. All he had to do is just set the alarm to # and he would be fine..., well he wanted to install a radio, and now he is not able to get the car to start. I gave him the code to input into the keypad, and the pad will not turn green to start the car, it is constant red...at first he states it was blinking red, then constant red, now blinking red again... He says he has disconnected the alarm to the car, but the car won't start, please help me!

Answer
Dear Shirley,
Unless this device has a reset code, it's stuck in
tamper mode, when it was powered down. My best advice
is to tell dad to have the device cut out of the ignition,
specifically remove any aftermarket wiring going
to the starter wire, in this car,
it's a BLACK/WHITE stripped wire in
the ignition switch harness off of the key
under the ignition column.

Once you locate the starter wire, cut off what is
attatched from your keypad device, and re connect the starter wire's 2 ends with a yellow Butt connector.

Done.

That takes care of the issue for good.
Let me know what transpires.

It'll be ok, just direct him to a local
alarm guy, or the stereo store that started
the trouble in the first place.

Good luck.
