car alarm going off on a 2003 ford thunderbird, battery dead and transponder will not open door locks, neither will key. what to do?

Answer
The key should be able to unlock the door no matter what the state of the alarm.  If your vehicle's battery is low or "dead" the alarm can act in ways that would make you think it is bad.  However most of the time the alarm is fine and just reacting to the drop in voltage.

No matter what the problem with the alarm unlocking the door with the key should always work.
