Motorcycle Repair: harley vrod saltwater damage, harley vrod, lake geneva

I just bought a 2003 vrod that had been pretty much submerged under what appears to have been saltwater. Besides tearing down the motor and trans what else should I look for in terms of corrosion damage. Also this bike is fuel injected, any worries there? I appreciate any help you may provide. Also I see you are in southern Wisconsin. I am in Lake Geneva, Wis and looking for someone to take this on as a winter project on without going to the dealer if possible. Any takers?

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the delayed response. I have a friend who works for Harley, Has 20+ years of experience with Harleys, plus one of the only guys I know who has experience with the ins and outs of a V-Rod. Leave me with your info, what exactly you'd like to see get done with the bike, plus your contact info, and I'll forward it to him.. I mentioned it to him and said he's fairly busy, but he'll think about it a few days and get back to me with an answer.he is only in West Allis, so the moving of the bike, or parts of it shouldn't be an issue...
