Car Alarms: factory alarm goes off for no reason, 2003 honda odyssey, alarmtek

Question
The lights flash and the horn go off for more than 30 sec. (minutes for sure, I usually turn it off before it turns off by itself)

I do not have an aftermarket alarm. This is Honda factory alarm.

-----Question-----
I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey.  The alarm goes off for no reason, even when I do not turn it on.  When it happens, it happens all day long, every minute even.  Fortunately, I can park in the garage and keep a door open, but I can't leave the house and have this happening in parking lots.  Then it seems to stop for awhile, months, and then will do it again for a couple of days.  Help.
-----Answer-----
Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Many veriables on this vehicle &
I Require a bit more imput please.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

Answer
If it is the OEM system, unlocking by remote,
or using the key in the drivers or passenger door,
turn left then right, would disable it.

If it's not disabled and continues to trigger, take
it to the dealership for inspection.

If however it is an aftermarket alarm, added at the dealership, then there is probably a
bypass/valet-overide switch somewhere.

If no joy the with the first option, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

But as I said, if you are conviced it is the OEM system,
locate the blue wire in the drivers door at the lock switch,
splice into it, then ground to the chassis. This
removes the factory alarm permanantly. Then if
the trouble persists, it's something else entirely.

Good luck. Hope you can figure it out
inexpensively.
