Car Alarms: remote start and alarm, purple wire, door locks

Question
I have a 2003 Tahoe, with installed remote start and alarms. Every since I had battery problems, nothing works properly. I have no manuals, of course. The brand name on the portable remote is ALLSTART. I can't find them on the net, but I did find you and I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. Right now, the alarms engage whenever I insert either key, and the remote will start the car, but will promptly turn it off again.
I noticed you had answered a previous question and directed the poster to 12volt.com for downloads, but I do not see that option on that website.
In any case, any advise you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much,

Answer
The 2003 Tahoe requires a databus module to interface the factory options such as door locks, arm/disarm, and passlock bypass.  It sounds to me as if the module may have lost it's memory and needs to be reprogrammed.  What I would recommend is to find the bypass module that was installed and get the make and model of the unit.  Once you have the make and model take a look at the12volt.com and see if anyone has posted a manual for it.    To find the module take a look at your OBD2 connector under the dash, the purple wire will have a wire connected to it, follow this back to the module.  If you can not find the manual for it, respond to this message with the exact make and model and I will see what I can find for you.
