Car Alarms: Elantra - Hyundai, elantra hyundai, hyundai elantra

Question
My daughter is stuck hours away from home with this cars alarm going off.  She has the remote and it still won't stop.  HELP

Answer
The newer Hyundai Elantra's factory installed alarm system disarms by having the key in the run position.  It needs to see the key in the ignition(key sense), turned on (ignition and accessory wires seeing +12V) and the factory alarm will disarm.

If it is an after market security system, then there should be some type of valet switch.  With most alarms, to use the valet over ride, you turn the key to the run position and flip the switch.  This disables the features of the security system and would stop the noise as well as allow the vehicle to start.

Hope this helps.
