Car Alarms: 1996 jeep grand cherokee, jeep grand cherokee, shock sensor

Hi

I have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee... does it have a standard factory fitted alarm? if so how can i get the lights to flash and the alarm to chirp when i press the lock & unlock buttons on the remote?

please advise...

There are a couple of things you could do to achieve this, like hooking up a relay triggered by one of the door lock actuator's legs.  The down side to this is that every time you lock the vehicle, be it with the keyfob or the door switch it will honk and flash as well.  

I would strongly recommend getting an aftermarket alarm/starter installed.  Not only will it give you the horn honk/siren output but it adds things like a shock sensor that a factory alarm just does not offer.
