Car Alarms: car alarm, jeep grand cherokee, side kick panel

Question
I own a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I would like to know how to disconnect the factory installed security system because it constantly stays lately and now it wont allow me to start the vehicle. Thanks

Answer
There is a  purple/yellow wire in the driver's side kick panel in a black plug that goes to negative when you unlock the driver's door with the key.  This wire is the factory alarm disarm wire.  If you are looking to permanently disable the factory alarm, I would recommend wiring a relay like this:

Pin 85: Yellow door trigger in driver's kick panel

Pin 86: fused 5amp  12V, this can be constant or ignition, whichever you would prefer...if constant the alarm will disarm anytime the door is opened, if ignition it will disarm when the door is open and the ignition is turned on.

Pin 30: ground

Pin 87:  purple/yellow factory alarm disarm wire

You may be able to just ground the  purple/yellow as well, but I do not know what repercussions this would have pertaining to the factory system.
