Car Alarms: 98 Honda Civic Alarm/Keyless Entry Problem, fcc id, control transmitter

Question
When I entered my FCC ID into remotes unlimited, the description reads "Refurbished (B) Grade Honda 1997 thru 1999 Dealer installed keyless entry remote control transmitter."  Is that what you are looking for?  Sorry I am clueless about all of this!!!

Hmm, I'm pretty sure it just came with the car, so maybe is a Honda alarm?

-----Question-----
Hi, A few weeks ago when I went to unlock my trunk, I hit the unlock key on my remote and then went to unlock the trunk and the alarm started going off. I then hit the unlock button again and it didn't turn it off so had to get in the car, turn the key, and press the valet button on the stereo.  I didn't think too much about it, went out and replaced the battery in my remote and re-bonded my keyless remote to my car by pressing the unlock button 6 times.  It was working fine until last night when again the unlock key didn't work to unlock the car or shut off the alarm.  Once I pressed the unlock key 6 times though, it did work.  Is this something I need to take in to get fixed?  Why does my car seem not to recognize my remote anymore?  What should I do?

Thanks!
-----Answer-----
I don't recognize the system you are using here
so I can't speak to the way your system works,
but I would take it to the local stereo/security
shop for inspection on it. You should not have to
keep doing that.

Do you know the make of the system in the Civic?
That would be helpfull in determining what it
does and oes not do.

-----Answer-----
Nope, no alarm in a 98' civic from the factory.
If there is an FCC id # on the back of the remote,
got to www.remotesunlimited.com and try to ID it there.

Answer
Yep, put in at a local dealership.
The options are have the local Hoda dealer inspect and
repair/replace it, or for 50. or so, scrap that
idea, and replace it with an aftermarket system
that has better range, and does alot more.

But if happy with the system, go to Honda to
see what they can do to help.

Good luck on this one.
