Car Alarms: alarms and storms, chevy camaro, shock sensor

Question
Hi! Unusual problem. When we have thunderstorms, our Chevy Camaro(?1999) alarm goes off. We've disconnected the battery cable, but is there any other way to change the sensitivity, just disconnect the alarm, etc.?

Answer
Not so unusual as you might think.
This is being caused by the shock sensor.
It is set too high and is being triggered
by the vibration. Do you know where, or have access to
the sensor? If no, take it to the local stereo
audio shop near you and tell them you need to
turn it down to low sensitivity, or to unplug
it completely. This will solve the issue.

Good luck with it.
