Car Alarms: Disarming a Viper car alarm, viper alarm system, viper car alarm

Question
Basically, how do I turn/shut off the Viper alarm system?  I purcahsed a '98 Jimmy which has a Viper alarm on it; however, no manual or  instructions on shutting it off came with the vehicle.  I looked for a toggle switch under the dash, but nothing.  The alarm re-arms itself every thirty seconds or so, locking the doors.  I can't even shut off the alarm when I take it in for an oil change or when I add windshield washer fluid, anti-freeze, or oil to the vehicle.  The alarm always goes off echoing its sound into the ears of anyone working on, or standing within 50 feet of the vehicle.  Very annoying!  We do want to keep the command start working though, and that is intertwined onto the same key pad as is the alarm.  Can you help?

Answer
Without that switch, getting it to go into valet mode
may be problematic. Short of unplugging the main
brain unit, you will not be able to reset or
put the system into overide.
The system is in passive mode, which notices
the dome light on the last door closing, then waits
for 30 seconds, then arms. I understand all that,
but to disable it, we are still in need of the switch.

Try again to locate it. Even if you need to bring down
the brain box from under the dash, and visually trace
the wiring to locate it. If not, you will need to
remove and replace it.

Keep hunting.
