Car Alarms: How to disable my Alarm ASAP, ford factory, dash area

Question
I lost my remote and I need to disable the alarm.  Help.  2003 Ford Escape.  I am willing to disconnect wires if I have to. The kill switch under the hood does not work.  The alarm still ingages after a couple of minutes.

Answer
If it's an aftermaket alarm, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.

That should do it.

If it does not work out this way,
this may be the Ford factory system
and you'll need to call the service department
at your dealership to get the reset procedure.

Let me know what happens.
