Car Alarms: What remote starter to buy?, ford contour, keyless entry system

Question
I have 1998 Ford Contour, v6 automatic. It has keyless entry system/panic alarm/trunk opener, and microchip in the key to prevent unautorized car start.
I am looking to buy remote starter but with so many options on the market unsure which one would be the best for the price under $100? And more importantly, would I need any add-on to make it compatible with the system already in place? So far Commando EZ-2500 Remote Starter seemed reasonable regarding price/quality but I am newbie in this field and therefore nervous. Please help. :)

Answer
The EZ 2500 is an ok system, but for the
monet, the Micro 2001c is better. It's tachless
operation works better on Fords then does the
Spal/Commando 2500. At only 69.95 + 25.00 for
the bypass module it's the handsdown favorite
for reliabilty, range, and installation ease.

It has the trunk pop output needed here,
as well as the locks and is in
stock. I also carry the EZ2500 but if I were doing
the install, I would save the 2500 for a Japanese
vehicle. They just do better in them, and go with
the MICRO 2001c. You will be happier in the long
run.

That's my take on your car/project. Not too hard
to do really. Should take a couple of hours
on any given weekend to do.

Good luck. If interested in this one,
send me an email at INSTALLSUPPORT@AOL.COM
and I will send back a link to pay for it,
and the wiring chart for the Contour to do the
job correctly. Plus I am your tech
support when you get to the install phase.
Commando does not do that any longer as
far as I know.

Have a good day.
