Car Alarms: 94 Bronco alarm, oem system, dome light

Question
I have a 94 bronco with a factory alarm, normally when I disarm the alarm it beeps one time but this afternoon it beeped three times.  I was wondering what this meant.

Answer
Hi, it means there
is an open trigger like the dome light
is on when you armed it. This alarm
current senses to trigger. Oh by the
way FYI, it's not a factory alarm.
This is an aftermarket system. Ford's
OEM system did not "beep" or chirp, and
would not report an open circuit like
yours does.

Turn off evrything, make sure the dome light
goes out BEFORE you arm the alarm. And if
you can take it to a local alarm installer,
have him/her change the settings of the system
to allow for any delay on the door/dome light.
Or if possible, turn off the delay.

Good luck with it.
