Car Alarms: Programming a Marksman and/or Megatronix remote, button remotes, keyless entry system

Question
My girl friend just bought a '01 Honda Accord VP with an after market alarm (I don't know the manufacture) and keyless entry system with two five button remotes which are identical. My question is about programming the remotes.

One remote still works intermittently (getting worn out). The other remote looks relatively new and has a new battery. When the buttons are pushed on the newer looking one the red light blinks but but nothing happens to unlock the keyless entry. Something tells me it will work if reprogrammed.

I was unable to find the brain of the system under the dash so I arrived at the make by looking up the remotes online. The same remote is used by two systems, one is a  Megatronix MT-56 remote. The other, which looks identical, is the Marksman 5B remote. Any clues how to program these remotes? Are these systems identical with different brand names? Thanks in advance for providing such a great service!

Answer
Ok, try this:

Ignition key on/off/on/off/on ,
then within 5 seconds, press the
valet overide button until you here
the siren make a response. Once you here it
chirp, press the lock button on the remote.
If you get another chirp, it worked.
If not, you might have to contact
the manufacturer to get the programing
procedure.

Good luck.
I hope it works for you.
