Car Alarms: viper car alarm., viper alarm system, 91 honda civic

hi-
i purchased a used car that has a viper alarm system. i think it's
a pretty basic one, w/ flashing lights, two sensitivity settings,
siren, and engine kill. my car is a 91 honda civic, and i think the
alarm is from the mid 90's. my question- is it possible to
remove or disable the siren and maintain all the other functions
of the alarm? thanks for your help, i really appreciate what you
do for everyone.

Answer
Easy enough. Locate the siren under the hood,
you will find a red and a black wire coming
from it going into the firewall.

Simply snip the red wire and tape off. Do not
cut both at the same time or you can short
out the alarm brain, but just the red one will
do fine. Then you have no siren, but retain
all other functions. Silent running.

Good luck on it. Pretty easy fix.
