Question -
I have a 1994 Cadillac Concours.
When we lock the door with our key or electronic key, the alarm will go off at random.
Also, at times when the car is locked and I open the trunk with the key or electronic key the alarm will go off.
This all started when we had the trunk fixed so the electronic key would open it.
Answer -
Please clarify for me. Are you dealing with an aftermarket
car alarm and have you added trunk release to it?
I AM DEALING WITH THE CAR'S OEM ALARM. WE HAVE NOT ADDED A TRUNK RELEASE.

Or is the the OEM system that came in the Concours?
IT IS THE OEM SYSTEM THAT CAME WITH THE CONCOURS.

The difference is the car's OEM alarm would sound the horn,
and an aftermarket alarm would have a siren, LED in the
dash, & valet/overide switch under the dash, flash the
parking lights and so forth.
OUR OEM ALARM SOUNDS THE HORN.

If the trunk release was added to an aftermarket system,
and it is now setting off the car's original alarm
you would need to disable the factory alarm completely
to avoid the 2 systems conflicting with each other.
OUR TRUNK RELEASE IS NOT AN AFTERMARKET SYSTEM.

If you added trunk release to a factory alarm, you
would need to talk to the GM dealership for a fix
on that one. It's not something I can offer assistance
on.
WE HAVE NOT ADDED A TRUNK RELEASE TO A FACTORY ALARM.

Let me know what the situation is, so I can
offer a suggestion.

Answer
Then at this point it is either go to DM for repair on they're system, or disable the factory alarm permanantly.
Locate the factory alarm disarm wire (lt. green wire
in either kick panel) splice into it, and ground this wire
to the chassis. This will solve the trouble for good,
and is the cheaper of the 2 options.

After this is done, I strongly suggest you then
get an aftermarket alarm to protect the car.

Let me know what you end up doing.
