Car Stereos: Replacing Speakers in a 2006 PT Cruiser, watt power amp, personal preference

Question
I am starting a speaker replacement on my 2006 PT Cruiser and I would like to know how to take out the door panels and replace them with Kenwood KFC-10625 and Pyramid 2060 speakers.  I am also installing a Dual 2060 300 Watt power amp and I would like basic instructions on how and where to install it

Answer
Hi Alex,

For basic instructions on a PT Cruiser door panel removal, you can try this site:

As for where to install the amplifier, that's entirely up to you.  You could see if you could fit it underneath a seat, some people just leave it on the floor of the trunk/hatch, some people bolt them to the rear seats.  That's all personal preference.

Buy a regular amplifier install kit.  You will run a large power wire to the amplifier straight off the battery with an in-line fuse, a short ground wire bolted to bare metal on the chassis, a remote wire off of the deck if it's aftermarket, or to a 12V accessory wire if it's not, and RCAs off of the deck if it's aftermarket, or to a highlevel output converter that's tapped into the rear speaker leads.
