Automotive Plastics: 1970 Mercedes 280SL Headlight trim, mercedes 280sl, metal mesh

We are tryng to repair the headlight trim for a 1970  mercedes 280SL. I have been told it is made of polycarbonate and can be repaired with Methyl chloride, which I cannot find.

Any help in how to repsir this part is appreciated.

Dear Barbara, sorry for a delay in answering, I am having problems with my server. Methyl chloride is not a suitable adhesive for polycarbonate. in fact there is not a good one for this polymer. The best way to fix any PC part is by welding. Make use of a 40 watts soldering Iron and reinforce with metal mesh as an insert.
