Car Stereos: Car Stereo, loose connection, car stereo

I have a 2000 cougar, the stereo will not pick up any stations on the FM or AM but the CD player works great. There is an impedance adapter hooked to the back of the radio, would this have anything to do with the problem?

Hi Beth,

Unless the impedance adapter is on the adapter itself, it shouldn't have any effect on your reception.

If you lost reception recently, you may be dealing with a bad/loose connection.  If it got progressively worse, it could be a breaking/broken/corroded wire.
