Car Stereos: 2004 acura tl, rockford fosgate, jl 10w6

Question
I SAW YOU COMMENTED ON THE ACURA WORLD SITE, I NEED SOME HELP, I REPLACED THE WHOLE SYSTEM IN THE CAR, WITH BOSTON PRO60 COMPONENTS, AND 2 AMPS jl gl 660 FOR THE MIDS AND HIGHS AND Rockford fosgate pro 600 watt pushing a 10 inch JL 10W6. I wanted to know if I need the factory amp for the signal, and can I Purchase a line out converter so I do not have to deal with it, and have a better sound and something to carry the signal, if I do what do you recommend because I have no idea, and will this affect my Bluetooth sound and connections

I appreciate your help

Thanks

Answer
Hi Anthony,

Sorry about the long delay in answering this question.

I've actually never tried an extensive amplifier integration into one of these Acuras.  Just from looking at the wiring information, I suspect it's not necessary to retain the factory amplifier.  All six audio channels are available at the head unit's output plug, so if I were doing this installation, I'd probably try splicing RCA audio cables directly into the head unit's outputs and running them to the new amplifiers.  Any original factory radio features should still work with the after-market amplifiers and speaker system.

Hopefully, getting the signal directly from the head unit outputs would eliminate the need for a line output converter; but if you run into level-matching or noise issues, then you could try using the amplifier's outputs instead.  In this case, you'd need a line output converter.  One option would be AudioControl's LC6i.

Hope this helps!
