Question
QUESTION: I have an 05 Tundra W/Air. JBL system would not eject cds. Disconnected batt to reset and now it will not read cds still in unit. How do I remove the HU?

ANSWER: Hi Michael,

Sorry about the delay in answering your question.  If you still need assistance in removing your factory radio, check out this document:

This is an instruction manual for a mounting kit designed for the Tundra, and it includes illustrated directions for removing the stock head unit.

Hope this helps!

Answer
Michael,

Sorry, but I don't have a lot of information available regarding the various OEM radio units that will work in your vehicle.  You'll definitely want to choose a JBL unit; a non-JBL radio will not work with the rest of your audio system.  You can find quite a few replacement radio units, specifically for the 04-05 Tundra, from various sellers on eBay.

Several weeks ago, I answered a question from someone who was attempting to make a non-JBL head unit work in a vehicle equipped with a JBL system.  In that case, the questioner was able to open the units, remove the working 6-disk changer mechanism from the non-JBL radio, and use it to replace the non-working CD changer in her JBL head unit.  If you're able to find a non-JBL 6-disk changer system more easily than a JBL unit, this might be worth a try.

Hope this helps!
