Car Stereos: 1994 jeep grande Cherokee stereo/no sound, market pioneer, grand cherokee

Question
Hello

I have a 94 grande Cherokee and am installing an after market pioneer iPod deck.
I have the wiring harness connected properly but all I get is power and no sound.
I've read that I may need to bypass the amp System (infinity)
How would I go about doing that?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Corey,

Your wire harness should have a blue wire in it. This needs to be connected to to the blue/white wire coming from the Pioneer plug. This is to activate the factory amplifier.

Bypassing the Infinity amplifier is fairly easy in the Grand Cherokee, but it's not required unless the stock amp is defective, or you're upgrading the speakers. If you're still having trouble after connecting the blue/white wire, let me know, and I'll see if I can help you bypass the amp.

Hope this helps!
