Car Stereos: 2003 chevy silverado HD radio, silverado hd, chevy silverado

My radio comes on and off by itself mostly off lately has gotten much worse over last year.  Before you could shout drivers door and it would come on, but that is no longer working.  Also when truck is off no power to nothing and the radio will make static noises with no power on.  I tried to check wires but no luck any other ideas.  I also replaced the factory radio with the same one.  6 disc changer with bose speakers

Sorry about the delay in answering this question.  Unfortunately, I think you may need to contact a GM dealer for this issue.  In the 03+ full-size GM trucks, the factory radio is controlled through the vehicle's data bus system.  There's no key-switched power wire like the older trucks; instead, the vehicle sends a data command directly to the head unit to tell it when to turn on and off.  Since you're having the same problem with two different OEM units, it sounds like the source of the problem might be in the part of the system that's sending the commands (possibly the body control module), rather than the audio system itself.
