Question
QUESTION: first thing is how hard is it going to be to do it i mean is it going to be like rewiring a non-bose car. 2. i was wanting to know if i can use the bose Radio Power wire to power my after market head unit. i just don't want to haft to rewire a new 1 from the fuse box to the new unit. but iv been asking everywhere and no one seems to know this answer. 3. if i haft to rewire the power wire can i use 14 gauge wire and what fuse should i use to wire it on.

thank you and have a great day

ANSWER: Edward,
1.  It is the same wiring as a non-Bose car.
2.  Yes, you can use the original power wire to power the new unit
3.  You can rewire with 14 gauge wire, but it will make no difference; 15 amps.

In 91, Bose was just a nameplate placed on the headunit.  There were no factory amps and special subs and wiring and all of that stuff, like there is today.  It should be just as easy as replacing any other stereo.  Hope this helps, Scott

Answer
Since it is questionable that I know what I am talking about, I would suggest looking up an online forum setup for your make and model car.  There are tons of these forums on the web, and I am sure there is one for caprices.  You should be able to find an electronics thread on there that someone has posted the best way to redo the wiring for your car.  And, they may even have some helpful shortcuts to ease in the new installation.  Good Luck, Scott
