Car Stereos: Panasonic CQ-DP383W player, panasonic cq, panasonic head unit

Question
Hello, I bought Panasonic CQ-DP383W player and I want to connect my phone to the player. I used CD changer input cord  in order to connect it to the phone, I checked the 2 cd changer outputs that I attached to the phone by connecting them to the speakers and there was a sound so it should be working. However, when I connect the cd changer input cord to the outputs that I attached to my phone nothing happens and there is no sound. Could you please help me and explain how I can "activate" the cd changer input cord that comes out from the player?
Sincerely yours, Ruslan.

Answer
Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm not as familiar with Panasonic car audio products as I am with some other brands.  Generally, when you're using a CD changer input for an auxiliary source, you'll need some sort of adapter to connect to the head unit's changer control port so that the CD changer source can be selected.  However, as far as I can tell there's no such adapter available for an older Panasonic head unit like yours.  It doesn't look like Panasonic designed their head units to allow you to use the CD changer input for other devices.  Your best bet is probably to look for a newer head unit that's equipped with the true auxiliary input you need.

Sorry I can't be more helpful!
