Car Stereos: power cords, sony head units, sony xplod

where do i find a power cord for my cd player which is a sony xplod or if there is a cheap way just to get power to it i have no clue what to do so if you could help me that would so nice that way i have a cd power because all i need is the power cord i already have the audio plug

Hi Benjamin,

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you have the audio plug, but you're missing the power wire.  Just about all Sony head units use a single multi-pin plug that includes all the power and speaker wiring.  If you have the plug, but it's missing the power wire, your best option is to buy a replacement plug rather than try to replace the individual wire.  You should be able to get the plug directly from Sony's parts store, at 1-800-488-7669.  Another option is to look for Metra's "smart harness" plug made for Sony; the model number is SY1680B.  This will work for most Sony head units.
