Car Stereos: Aftermarket radio and speakers 04 jeep liberty, car stereos, power antenna

Question
I put in a after market JVC radio and speakers in my 04 Jeep liberty. When I completed installing the wiring harness I had no sound coming out of the speakers. Went back and connected the power antenna and only the front dash tweeters worked. Where is the factory amp and how do I bypass it?

Answer
Hi Michael,

The factory amplifiers in a Liberty are attached to the front door speakers.  Each side (left and right) has its own amplifier; and each amplifier runs the front, rear and dash speaker on that side.  Actually, I'm not sure how you were able to keep the amplifiers in the system, connected to the tweeters, without getting the front and rear door speakers to work as well.

Given that you're replacing the speakers and the head unit, my recommendation would be to bypass the factory amplifiers entirely.  I actually answered a similar question about this vehicle a couple weeks ago, so my answer there should be helpful for you as well.  Here's the link:
