Car Stereos: dodge ram 1500 radio, dodge ram 1500, factory radio

Can I replace a 2005 dodge ram 1500 factory radio be replaced with a 2006 radio?
I am trying to get xm radio and MP3 (aux) to work through a single radio.

Bryce, I do not think they are compatible.  I know the mounting hole is different, and I think the rear plug is different as well.  All of the newer trucks run the stereo through the computer of the truck, and they will not except stereos from other model years.  I would look into an aftermarket Alpine.  Hope this helps, Scott
