Car Stereos: Short somewhere?, kicker, headlights

Question
I just bought a car from my friend and he had installed the stereo and a kicker in the trunk. The stereo sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and will go on and off randomly while driving. When I was looking for the problem with my headlights I found the fuse for the kicker and one of the legs was completely blown off. What are the steps you recommend for starting to diagnose and fix all these problems?

Answer
It is not difficult, just takes some time.  Pull the radio out, and check all the connections.  Chances are, one of those is not tight.  After that, check all the wires going to the kicker.  It is important to make sure all wiring is tight and secure.  After that, there may be some other issues.  If you still have problems, just let me know.  Hope this helps, Scott
